The Chain Receipt
A receipt most coffee companies would never print.
Most coffee passes through exporters, importers and distributors before it reaches you, and the farmer rarely knows where it ends up. We connect you directly with the person who grew it. Your receipt shows who that is and exactly what they earned from your order.
How our model works →Subscription · Chain Breaker
Coffee with a name, in every box.
To taste. Three producers, three processes, about 18 cups.
Two producers in every box. Enough to brew filter and dial in espresso.
Three producers in every box. For two people or heavy drinkers.
Half of what you pay goes to the producers. Pause, skip, change size or cancel anytime.
The producers
The people behind the cup.
Agronomists, fermentation experimenters and business owners. Not beneficiaries. Partners.
Final Lots
The last bags of these harvests.
When a lot is gone, it's gone. Every bag is traceable, and the producer is paid when it sells.
Our story
Unchained began on a farm my father had to sell.
The harvests grew, the price didn't. That was 1979, in Huila. Decades later I went bankrupt exporting coffee, lost an accelerator spot pitching in a language I didn't speak, and started over in New Jersey as a roaster and barista. There I saw a farmer receive $1.55 for a bag that sold for up to $35. Unchained exists so that stops. In our 2026 pilot, farmers earned 6.7 times the commodity price.
